Petroleum Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi stated this at a media briefing in Islamabad today. He said a team of Pakistani officials would visit Doha to hold talks with Qatari officials in this regard on coming Wednesday.
The minister said with installation of LNG into the system, power sector would immediately be able to generate 350 megawatts additional electricity.
Abbasi said natural gas is Pakistan’s immediate need and the government has established its first LNG terminal in record one year’s time. He said up to 700 mmfcd gas can be transmitted through this terminal.
