BOAO: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday said Pakistan will be among the largest economies of the world by 2050.
In his speech at the opening ceremony of the annual conference of the Boao Forum for Asia in Hainan Province of China, he said Pakistan’s economy is vibrant and progressing at the annual growth rate of 6 per cent.
The premier said One Belt and One Road initiative was of global importance.
He said Pakistan offered tremendous investment opportunities, adding that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a plan of mutual cooperation and unprecedented progress.
Under the venture, he said, a network of highways and motorways has been laid, besides the setting up of new industrial units.
He said Pakistan will take lead in regional connectivity and BOAO forum has proved important to raise stature of Asia.
Abbasi said China was playing an important role in global trade and hoped the neighboring country would achieve new important milestones under the leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Commenting on relations between Pakistan and China, he said there are exemplary ties between the two neighboring countries.
