COLOMBO: The Embassy of Pakistan in Sri Lanka has warned citizens from unnecessarily going out at public places in view of the current situation following deadly blast in the country, ARY News reported Wednesday.
According to embassy, the citizens have been advised to take certain precautionary measures in view of the current situation.
The embassy urged Pakistani citizens to avoid going to crowded places to prevent facing any untoward incident.
Earlier in the day, Sri Lankan authorities on Thursday (April 25) revised the toll from Easter bombings down to 253, from the previous figure of 359, explaining that some of the badly mutilated bodies had been double-counted.
The health ministry said medical examiners had completed all autopsies by late Thursday, and had concluded that several victims killed in the series of attacks had been counted more than once.
Pakistan had strongly condemned the barbaric explosive attacks across Sri Lanka that caused numerous casualties and huge loss of innocent lives.
Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday telephoned his Sri Lankan counterpart Ranil Wickremesinghe and reiterated Pakistan’s offer of assistance to Sri Lanka towards counter terrorism measures.
Strongly condemning the terrorist attacks that took place on Easter Sunday, he conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and profound prayers for the speedy recovery of the wounded.
The prime Minister said that the people of Pakistan were deeply grieved over the loss of precious lives and stood with their Sri Lankan brethren at this hour of grief.
