FAISALABAD: Pakistan’s first weaving city shall be set up in the M3 Industrial Estate here in Faisalabad as the country moves towards streamlining its textile sector, bring the entire clutch of weaving units in one 100-acre parcel of land in this predominantly textile manufacturing city.
The first every weaving city in Faisalabad, Pakistan will cater the complete range of weaving machines in this 100-acre part of land, which will be known as the textile manufacturing city.
On Friday, at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI), A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) and the All Pakistan Cotton Power Looms Association (APCPA).
The event for signing MoU was attended by FIEDMC chairman, Mian Adrees & Amir Saleemi, the CEO along with the higher professionals of this industry.

Hussain Chawla, FCCI president stated that the enhanced technology will assist the power looms region to fabricate superior quality of export items, so as to retain international customers and to expand Pakistan’s exports.
According to Chaudhary Muhammad Nawaz of APCPA, the planning for weaving city was on the drawing board for the past many years, but real efforts are needed in order to implement this plan. He highlighted the fact that, in the annex phase, an additional 1,000 acres of land shall be prearranged to the M3 Industrial Estate for this venture for smooth proceedings.
The plan revealed by Amir Saleemi , FIEDMC CEO is to built the minor units on the bypasses of roads towards Faisalabad, which will result in providing job opportunities to the local workers. He said “The weaving city will be developed on the public-private partnership model.”
