Forceful resignation of PM is out of question, says Nisar

Speaking in the National Assembly, Nisar said one of the protesting groups had adopted the same protest method in Islamabad couple of years ago inducting children and women in their protest.

How police could take action if children and women are put on a frontline in a demonstration, he asked.

He said forceful resignation of the prime minister is out of question. If rigging allegations are proved against any government, then it cant stay in a power.

Those claiming to be one million in strength are actually in 10,000 in numbers, he said while indicating about protesters gathered in Islamabad on call of Imran Khan and Dr. Tahirul Qadri.

The minister lamented that it could become a norm to take to the streets with a few thousand people to unseat any elected government.

The interior minister said there were chances of untoward situation even if group 10,000 people reach capital. He added that all forces wanted dialogue to end the crisis.

They (PAT) are pursuing violent politics, he said in an indirect reference of Dr. Tahirul Qadri-led protest.

Nisar said PAT, unlike PTI, is not a political party and their demands were also unconstitutional. We were of the view that PAT demands should not be accepted, but the prime minister opposed the move and both the protesting parties were allowed to march on capital.

He said respecting democratic right of protesters, the government had exercised maximum restraint.

Currently 2,500 women are sitting at a protest, around 200 minor children outside parliament house.
