RAWALPINDI: Pakistani and Indian border forces troops exchanged fresh fire across the Working Boundary in Shakargarh sector on Friday,
A statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed there was no loss of life on the Pakistani side in the skirmish which took place from 9-9:30 AM near the village of Chak Amru in Punjab.
It also stated that Indian forces given a befitting response by Pakistan Rangers who responded to the unprovoked firing.
It said that Indian claims of striking or killing any Pakistani soldiers of Rangers officer at any time today across the Working Boundary or the Line of Control are absolutely false and unfounded.

Tensions between the two arch rivals have been boiling since the Indian government accused Pakistan of supporting an assault on an army base in the held Kashmir that killed 18 soldiers.
Occasional violations of a 2003 ceasefire between the nuclear-armed rivals are not uncommon. The last was reported on October 19 that killed a civilian during another episode of firing across the Line of Control (LoC).
The Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P. Singh was called upon at the foreign office on Thursday to lodge a strong protest.
