Pak, Malaysia to sing MoUs in telecom, automobile sectors: chairman BoI

ISLAMABAD: Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer Mr. Mohamad Mustafa Abdul Aziz along with his delegation called on Board of Investment (BoI) Chairman Haroon Sharif in Islamabad on Wednesday.

According to a statement released from the ministry, the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the upcoming visit of Malaysia’s Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad along with a delegation comprising representatives from public and private sector of Malaysia.

Haroon Sharif said that BoI was organizing a Pak-Malaysia business leaders round table meeting on March 22, which would be co-chaired by both PM Imran Khan and Mahathir bin Mohamad.

He said that both leaders would also oversee the signing of memoranda of understanding in telecommunications, automobile and other sectors.

During the meeting, Chairman BoI said that the partnership with Malaysia was of strategic nature, in which more value is placed on the transfer of knowledge and technology by the Malaysia as well as networking with other countries in the region.

He added that the sentiments of brotherhood and friendliness exist in the people of both nations, which should be translated into a long-term partnership between the two countries.

Mohamad Mustafa Abdul Aziz, while discussing the importance of the upcoming event, urged to have fruitful sessions by bringing right business people from both sides on the round table.
