Pakistan to oppose Big Three in ICC conference, says Shahryar

“Pakistan has become a giant front against Big Three and wants dissolution of it as soon as possible,” he said while addressing a press conference at National Cricket Academy Lahore after 41st Board of Governors’ (BOG) meeting.

The national cricket boards of England, India and Australia have started overhauling cricket’s world governing body. All the three are also entitled to increased shares of global revenue.

The PCB chairman also said BOG had given approval for Rs4.5 billion PCB budget, however it would be used with moderation.

To a query, he said former bowler Azhar Mehmood had been approached for the post of bowling coach. Azhar Mehmood and Head Coach Mickey Arthur are ready to work together.

Shahryar Khan said 1000 children of government and private schools would be given chance to play in Champion Cricket Tournament along club cricket to promote cricket in the country.

He also rejected rumours of his resignation and said he was unaware as to who spread such news.

The chairman PCB said recent boot camp at Army School was successful and would be held regularly every year. He said plan had been devised to improve pitches of grounds.
