Pakistan loves peace, but ready to defend its territorial boundaries: Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD: Former defence minister Khawaja Asif on Wednesday said that the nation is proud of its armed forces, India will get a befitting response, if it tries any misadventure in future.

Speaking to ARY News, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader contended that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has strongly responded India over violation of Pakistan’s airspaces.

“Pakistan is a peace loving country and reserves the right to defend its territory in case of any cross border attack,” he said.

Mr Asif said we have caught the two pilots of the Indian air force (IAF) by striking down two of its jets in return of New Delhi’s false claims about carrying out a surgical strike in Pakistan int he wee hours of Tuesday.

Criticising Modi, the former defence minister said, the Indian PM is an extremist and the nation should get ready for any eventuality.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday said Pakistan has exercised its right to self-defence by striking down two of Indian fighter jets.

Talking to ARY News, the minister said, he warned India, in yesterday’s press conference that “Pakistan will respond,” and Pakistan has responded today.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif asked the world body to take notice Modi government’s hostility against Pakistan and brutalities in occupied Kashmir.

Lauding the PAF action of downing two IAF jets, in his tweet, Shehbaz Sharif said, Pakistan had the right and was capable of defending its frontiers.

PAF shoots down two IAF jets

Two fighter jets of Indian Air Force were shot down by Pakistan Air Force in bright day light on Wednesday, said Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor.

According to the DG ISPR, Indian fighter jets violated Line of Control (LoC) today, and in a robust response, the PAF destroyed two aircraft of IAF inside Pakistani airspace.
