KARACHI: Pakistan will announce the squad for the three-match test series against West Indies today, ARY News reported.
Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq will announce the test squad in a press conference at Karachi’s National Stadium.
Several players, included in the test squad against England in a recent test series, are expected to be dropped this time around. Opening batsman Mohammad Hafeez, who put up a dismal performance in the warm up game against West Indies, is likely not to be named in the team.
Babar Azam, who impressed the selectors in the one-day series, may be included for the test matches as well whereas Mohammad Nawaz can also be included in the squad playing the test series.
Veteran batsman Younis Khan will not play the first test due to illness. Fast bowler Mohammad Amir, who returned home to attend to his ailing mother, is also doubtful for the series.
The test series will kick off in Dubai as the first test will be played from 13th to 17th October in day-night conditions. The second match of the test series will be contested from 21st to 25th October in Dubai.
The final test of the series will be played from October 30th to November 3rd at Sharjah.
