Pakistan Urges Global Action Against Indian Brutalities in Kashmir

WASHINGTON: The Pakistan’s Ambassador in United States has said that issue of Kashmir has suffered due to political instability in Pakistan.

Addressing a huge gathering in Embassy of Pakistan on “Kashmir Solidarity Day” Sardar Masood Khan lamented the plight of Kashmiris, asserting, “Their wounds are our wounds. We are not fighting this war just to get a piece of land, but because it is our moral and legal responsibility.”

Highlighting the gravity of the issue, Khan emphasized the destabilizing effect of Kashmir’s ongoing turmoil on regional peace and stability, calling upon the international community to fulfill its obligation in resolving the Kashmir dispute. “It is the responsibility of the international community to solve the Kashmir issue,” Khan asserted, appealing for collective action to safeguard the rights of those in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Supporting Khan’s sentiments, Dr. Imtiaz Hussain, a Professor at George Washington University, condemned the atrocities perpetrated by Indian forces against innocent Kashmiris. He accused India of orchestrating demographic changes and environmental degradation in the region, transforming Kashmir into a “living prison” for its inhabitants.

Dr. Imtiaz stressed the imperative of unity among Muslim nations on the Kashmir issue, advocating for the establishment of Kashmir Chairs in prominent universities worldwide to raise awareness and garner support for Kashmiri rights.

In a recorded video message, Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed drew parallels between the situation in Kashmir and that of Gaza, denouncing India as a state sponsor of cross-border terrorism. He decried India’s descent into a “Hindutva state” and applauded the resilience of Kashmiri people in the face of adversity.

Adviser to President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Zarif Khan, reiterated the unwavering struggle of Kashmiris for their fundamental rights, urging the international community to take decisive action against Indian atrocities in the region.

The event served as a stark reminder of the urgent need for concerted efforts to address the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Kashmir, amidst escalating tensions and human rights violations.
