Talking to ARY News today, Tasneem Aslam said situation in Yemen is perilous adding that air and land routes are insecure.
As government’s plans to rescue the stranded Pakistanis not working in view of attack on the Yemen airport. PIA didn’t get clearance to fly for Yemen. Therefore, the sea route was the only option that government can explore.
She informed that two naval ships have been sent to Yemen for the evacuation of countrymen stranded in Yemen. She said first ship will reached on April 3.
Denying the perception that government is not serious over the issue, the Spokesperson said government of Pakistan is in continuous communication with Yemen authorities.
“We have talked to Yemen government regarding security of Pakistanis residing in their country”, she added.
Tasneem Aslam said crisis management cell is in contact with Pakistanis in Yemen. One of our focal person conducting the registration of Pakistanis, she added.
FO Spokesperson also informed that around 70 Pakistanis in Sanaa had denied to come to Pakistan during the first phase of rescue.
Tasneem Aslam said at least 1000 of Pakistanis are stranded in Yemen.
