Pakistan’s remote sensing satellite becomes operational

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s first Remote Sensing Satellite (PRSS-1) and Pakistan’s indigenous Technology Evaluation Satellite (PakTES-1A) became fully operational today, ARY News reported.

According to Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform, the satellites which were were successfully launched from China’s Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre on July 9, became fully operational after the successful tests in the orbit.

“Today, the control of PRSS-1 Satellite has been successfully transferred to Ground Control Stations in Pakistan,” said the statement issued by the ministry.

The statement adds that President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nasirul Mulk have appreciated the efforts of SUPARCO’s engineers and scientists in achieving a yet another milestone in the space domain, coinciding this feat with Pakistan’s 71st Independence Day.
