He also refuted having met Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman recently in London.
“I have had no meeting with Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman in London and rumours of reaching an understanding with Nawaz Sharif are untrue, baseless and motivated,” he said in a statement.
Zardari not only contradicted the reports of reaching an understanding with the PM but also said that the party had already decided to pursue the Panama leaks issue to its logical conclusion.
“A parliamentary committee has already been set up which is engaged in drawing up the Terms of Reference for investigations and how to proceed in the matter and there is no question of ignoring it,” he said.
He said Pakistan People’s Party had reached at a well considered stance on the issue after having due deliberations, not only within the party but also with all other political parties.
Zardari also said: “Media reports are being fabricated to give an impression that he may have a different stance on the issue of investigation into Panama Leaks.”
