LAHORE: The noose appears to be tightening around the suspects involved in corruption scandals of Ashiana Housing scheme and Paragon City, as Qaiser Amin Butt is spilling the beans before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
As per details, Qaiser Amin Butt, a director of the Paragon City (Pvt) Limited, who has become an approver in graft cases, recorded his statement before the chairman NAB.
Sources privy to the matter informed that Qaiser, who is a close friend of PML-N’s Khawaja Saad Rafique, revealed that Paragon Society was not approved by the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and Khawaja brothers (Khawaja Saad Rafique and Khawaja Salman Rafique) were the beneficial owners of the housing scheme.
He further disclosed that Paragon City Director Nadeem Zia was responsible for all transactions and Khawaja brothers used to receive all money in cash, sources added.

The statement was video and audio recorded, sources said.
The key suspect also recorded his statement before the judicial magistrate and district court of Lahore and accepted that he was employed for the work related to the Khawajas’ property in 1997, later in 2000, Saad Rafique introduced with a man named Nadeem Zia and asked to work with him.
Yesterday, the anti-graft watchdog chairman approved a request by Qaiser Amin Butt to become an approver in the case after which his confessional statement was recorded under section 164 Cr.P.C.
Earlier this month, the anti-graft watchdog arrested Qaiser Amin Butt from Khairpur where he was said to have gone to evade his arrest following the Bureau’s probe into the housing society scandal.
NAB had launched an investigation into the scandal after protests by dozens of victims against the housing society fraud.
