Pipelines burst, sewage overflowing cripple routine life in Karachi

A pipeline near Safari Park ruptured due to which water filled the entire area whereas the citizens are also facing severe problems caused by the overflowing of a sewer at Tibet Centre.

The pipeline burst has also led to crippling traffic jams in affected areas, thus adding to miseries of citizens.

Sindh Minister for local government Jam Khan Shoro claimed that pipeline bursts are taking place due to non-coordination between the contractors and water board officials.

Sources have said that the Managing Director of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) has not been working at his office for many days.

It should be noted that a major water pipeline burst in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal in December last year due to which an acute water shortfall had taken place in the metropolis.
