KARACHI: All passengers of international flights will now pay airport charges in Pakistani rupees instead of dollars, a notification issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said.
As per details, CAA announced to receive fees in rupees at all Pakistani airports from the international passengers.
Previously, passengers, going abroad, used to pay 20 dollars as airport charges.
CAA took the decision to charge in rupees in the light of the fluctuating value of the dollar in the market, as passengers were suffering greatly due to the rate of the greenback.
Under the notification, CAA will charge Rs: 2,800 from international passengers.
Last month, CAA ended aeronautical charges on domestic flights. at all airports, under new aviation policy. Prime Minister Imran Khan took the major step for the revival of the aviation industry.
The decision will benefit domestic flights operators including Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) as the aviation authority has zeroed aircraft landing charges on private airlines as well.
Moreover, the charges, which were being received for parking, boarding, power supplies, and terminal navigation, were also ended up.
