LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri said on Tuesday he will accept whatever decision the court concerned makes with regard to the Model Town incident.
Speaking to the media after his arrival at Lahore airport, he said this was the first time the process of investigation into the Model Town case had been completed.
The PAT chief said the new Model Town Joint Investigation Team (JIT) had recorded statements of both sides, including the victims and accused persons.
Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was grilled in the case for the first time, he said and added the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader was asked to explain as to why didn’t he constitute an impartial JIT in his capacity as prime minister following the incident to probe it.
Qadri said the Sharif brothers were investigated for the first time in the last four years. He questioned why they were worried if they were innocent and expressed resolve to continue fighting legal battle until provision of justice.
