SUST: People of Hunza welcome Pak-China Friendly Car Rally that arrived from China and comprises 20 cars with 52 persons including media representatives.
Minister for Works Dr Muhammad Iqbal, Member Gilgit-Baltistan Council Arman Shah and other government officials accorded warm welcome to them at Zero Point.
The rally led by Mr Lee attended a flag hoisting ceremony organised in honor of the rally at Sust. Pakistani Political Attache to Beijing Sohail Abbasi is also accompanying the rally.
Anthems of both the countries were played on this occasion. Iqbal termed their arrival in Pakistan as welcoming. He said the rally would help further stabilize cultural, political and touristic bilateral relations.
“Pak-China friendship is exemplary in its nature,” he said.
Lee thanked the government of Pakistan over hospitality extended to the group.
Earlier, participants of Pak-China Friendship Car Rally visited various cultural and historical place of Lahore.
The participants rejoiced themselves by witnessing the rich cultural and historical heritage of Punjab.
The rally is meant to highlight the importance of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project at international level.
