ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and 10 other accused were indicted on Tuesday in Rental Power Projects (RPPs) corruption case, ARY News reported.
Ashraf among 11 others accused in a case pertaining to his involvement in multi-billion-rupee corruption scandal of rental power projects (RPPs).
Pervez Ashraf was not present in the accountability court and the indictment against him was spelt out to his lawyer.
The court rejected the petitions for acquittal of former finance minister Shaukat Tareen and another accused Ismail Qureshi.
Raja Pervez and former finance minister Shaukat Tareen, were to be charge-sheeted on the previous hearing held on May 30, however, the court had adjourned the case proceeding until June 3 over non-appearance of the accused.
Ex-secretary establishment Ismail Qureshi and Tareen had filed plea for their acquittal which were turned down by the court.
