Information minister inaugurates photo exhibition ‘Icons of Pakistan Freedom Movement’

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb inaugurated six-day photographic exhibition titled ‘Icons of Pakistan Freedom Movement‘ in Islamabad on Pakistan Day eve (Thursday).

“The Pakistan Day reminds us the dream of Allama Muhammad Iqbal and the leadership of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Quaid had always given priority to education,” she said while addressing the ceremony.

She said democracy was innately found in every Pakistani because foundations of the country were based on two-nation theory.

Highlighting the importance of the national language, Marriyum said Urdu is our national identity.

She expressed the hope that the day was not far when there would be 100 percent literacy rate in Pakistan and the best health facilities would be available to every citizen.

The information minister pointed out that by following the Quaid’s three basic principles; unity, discipline and faith, we could become a successful nation.

Secretary Information Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera, Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Shafqat Jalil and other officials were also present on the occasion.
