PIA facing losses worth billions each month: sources

According to sources, more than 300 domestic and international flights were delayed and more than 100 flights were cancelled in August due to which the national airliner is facing losses worth of billions of rupees.

The monthly sales of the institution have also fallen down to Rs. 7 billion from Rs. 10 billion.

It should be noted that

airline tickets worth more than Rs.10 billion used to be sold due to the weak marketing strategy of PIA. Furthermore, PIA also has to pay millions of rupees as dues to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation.

It has to pay their dues to the Saudi aviation by September 25.
