PIA marks 60 years of service by introducing retro livery

LIVERY

An aircraft livery is a paint scheme applied to an aircraft, generally to fuselage, wings, empennage (tail fin), or jet engines.

To promote their brand, airlines typically use a standard livery, prominently displaying their logo or name that is applied to all or most of their fleet.

Special liveries are used in certain circumstances, such as significant anniversaries for an airline.

Following are some of liveries PIA used during 60 years of service,

 

A Convair CV-240 in the 1950s at Karachi Airport.
1960’s Livery
1970s

 

PIA 1980’s legacy tail which became an identity for the airline.

2000 Onward

In July 2014, PIA introduced “crescent and star” on aircraft engines out of Urdu PIA logo.
