KARACHI: Pakistan International Airline (PIA) officials on Sunday broke into Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Sherry Rehman’s luggage and “roughed it up” for searching, ARY News reported.
Talking to ARY News, she expressed shock over the way her luggage from Islamabad to Karachi was broken into and thoroughly roughed up off PIA flight.
She said she never hesitated from presenting her luggage for checking, however the way her luggage, sent from Islamabad to Karachi, was treated it was unfathomable.
“Don’t know what they were expecting to find in my bags, but after breaking locks all they found were books and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed scarf,” she said in a tweet.
She said she was busy in Islamabad due to the political situation of the country and when she reached Karachi after a week she faced such a treatment.
PIA has reportedly taken notice of the incident, to which Sherry replied, “Thank u @Official_PIA for taking notice, but this is not ur doing. I always put my bags and self thru regular search despite exemptions.”
