ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Thursday is chairing concluding session of three-day Pakistani envoys conference.
The conference has been held to deliberate over the regional and global dimensions of Pakistan’s foreign policy with focus to tense diplomatic ties with the United States in the aftermath of President Donald Trump’s Afghan strategy and criticism of Pakistan for allegedly housing terrorists.
Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir and Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif are also present at the conference.
Informed sources said that Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua gave a briefing to the premier and other participants on the country’s foreign policy challenges and outlook.
Pakistani envoys to various countries, including the United States, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Afghanistan, Iran, and India are participating in the conference.

Addressing the attendees at inaugural session of the conference, foreign minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday reiterated Pakistan’s stance that there is no military solution to the Afghan conflict.
He stressed the need to highlight ongoing atrocities in India-Occupied Kashmir (IoK) by Indian Army on all available international platforms.
“Pakistan wants good relations with all its neighbouring countries. Peace and stability in Afghanistan is in the best interest of Pakistan,” Asif had said during his inaugural speech.
It merits to mention here that three-day conference of Pakistani diplomats had begun in the federal capital on Tuesday to review Pakistan’s foreign policy in the wake of latest developments, including the tense diplomatic ties with the United States in the aftermath of President Donald Trump’s Afghan strategy and criticism of Pakistan for allegedly housing terrorists.
