ISLAMABAD: PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday said that terrorism was a common threat to Pakistan and Afghanistan and both countries should work together for security and stability in the region.
He made these remarks during the telephonic conversation with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.
Ashraf Ghani telephoned the Prime Minister to congratulate him on assuming the office of the Prime Minister.
The Afghan president expressed satisfaction over the smooth transition and said that it was good for democracy in Pakistan.
PM Abbasi thanked President Ghani and said that Pakistan would work together with Afghanistan to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the region.
Both leaders resolved to work together to address the challenge of energy in the region and improve the economic conditions in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
