PM arrives in Karachi

According to ARY News, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will chair a high level meeting at Chief Minister House in Karachi.

Chief Minister of Sindh Qaim Ali Shah, Governor Ishratul Ebad, top officials of power utility K-Electric and other officials will attend the meeting.

The prime minister will be given detailed briefing over heatstroke deaths and power crisis in Karachi.

According to sources, the governor and chief minister of Sindh will hold separate one on one meetings with the prime minister.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will also meet with the representatives of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and philanthropists involved in welfare activities in Karachi.

Nawaz Sharif will also visit hospitals to meet the patients suffered in the heat related health disorders.

According to the provincial health department, over 42,000 people affected in the heatwave throughout the province including 38,000 patients in Karachi.

Around 1300 people in Karachi and other districts of Sindh reportedly died in the scorching summer in southern Pakistan.
