Country’s progress, prosperity lies in peace and stability: NSC

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) at the Prime Minister’s Office on Tuesday (today).

The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Defence Minister Pervez Khattak, Finance Minister Asad Umar, Information Minister Fawad Hussain, Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, and other senior officials.

Matters related to security situation of the country came under discussion during the meeting which lasted about three hours. It concluded that progress and prosperity of Pakistan lies in peace, stability and rule of law. 

The prime minister also apprised the participants about his recent visit to China.

PM Khan in his visit of China met the top Chinese leadership and discussed the flagship bilateral project CPEC, bilateral trade and other matters.

During the prime minister’s visit Pakistan and China also agreed to conduct bilateral trade in Yuan.

Prime Minister will likely to address the nation after the crucial meeting.
