ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the National Security Committee has been underway here with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in chair, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
The meeting will discuss the tensions with India at the Line of Control (LoC).
Army Chief Gen. Raheel Sharif, other services chiefs, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Rashad Mahmood, DG ISI Lt.Gen. Rizwan Akhtar, Advisor to Prime Minister on National Security Nasir Janjua, Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz, federal ministers Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Ishaq Dar and Pervez Rasheed will attend the meeting.
Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry will brief the national security committee on border tensions between Pakistan and India and prime minister’s recent visit of United States and address to the General Assembly of United Nations.
The chief ministers of the provinces and Gilgit-Baltistan region chief minister have been attending the meeting on special invitation.
