He stated this while inspecting progress at 1,320 megawatt coal-fired power project at Port Qasim in Karachi on Monday afternoon.
The Prime Minister had himself laid foundation of the project, to be completed at a cost of US $1.5 billion.
It is the first power project being set up under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
Federal Ministers Khawaja Asif, Ishaq Dar, Khurram Dastgir and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan accompanied the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister also attended a briefing at Port Qasim on various ongoing development projects.
The Port Qasim Authority chief briefed the Prime Minister on performance, achievements and ongoing development projects.
He said 250 industries are working in the Industrial Zone set up at the Port Qasim, which is the busiest and most earning port of the country.
Giving briefing to the Prime Minister, Chinese experts said they are making efforts to complete this project in August 2017.
