Judicial Commission report: PM to address the nation today

Nawaz Sharif held a consultative meeting with his aides after the Prime Minister House received the Judicial Commission’s report from the Ministry of Law and Justice, sources said.

The meeting thoroughly discussed various aspects of the report and decided that the prime minister will address the nation today to announce the findings of the report.

According to sources, Nawaz Sharif talking to his aides said that the inquiry commission’s report has vindicated the government’s stance.

A three-member Judicial Commission headed by Chief Justice of Supreme Court Nasirul Mulk had completed its hearing into the rigging claims about 2013 general elections. earlier this month.

The inquiry commission constituted to probe the allegations of rigging in the 2013 general elections and submitted its report to the government through the Ministry of Law and Justice.

PTI seeks copy of report

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has submitted an application to the Judicial Commission seeking a copy of its report over the allegations of rigging in general elections 2013

PTI Secretary General Jahangir Tareen has expressed

his apprehensions with regard to delay in announcement of the commission’s report. Tareen has claimed that the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz releasing selected excerpts of the report for political reasons.

The application has been submitted by the PTI’s lawyer addressed to the Secretary of the Inquiry Commission to obtain the report.

According to informed sources, the inquiry commission has rejected allegations leveled by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) regarding organized electoral rigging in the 2013 polls.

PM House receives Judicial Commission report

Prime Minister House today confirmed receiving the report of the Judicial Commission on alleged rigging in 2013 general elections. A Spokesperson of the PM House has said that a team of legal experts will brief Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the inquiry commission’s report in a meeting today.

The report will be released on the website of the Ministry of Law and Justice, the spokesperson added.

The PML-N leaders claiming that the commission had rejected all allegations of organised rigging in the polls levelled by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).
