Talking to media persons in London before leaving for home, Sharif thanked the nation for praying for his good health. He also prayed for the security of Pakistan and well-being of the nation.
The prime minister, speaking to media also paid tribute to renowned philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi who passed away in Karachi on Friday evening.
He said that Edhi sb served humanity and the downtrodden people till his last breath. He added that he wished to attend the deceased social worker’s funeral prayers but his medical condition not allowing him to do so.
Nawaz Sharif had departed for London for the operation on 22nd May and underwent a successful cardiac surgery at London’s Harley Street Hospital on 31st May.
He is returning to the country along with 24 members of his family via a special flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
He will land at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport after which he will leave for his family home of Jati Umra.
