The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif leading a high-level delegation will meet the Emir and the Prime Minister of Qatar during his two-day state visit. The two sides would also hold wide-ranging delegation level talks.
During the visit of the prime minister a long-term sale/purchase agreement of LNG would be concluded between Pakistan and Qatar, the foreign office spokesman said. A number of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in the field of health, radio and television, education and research would also be signed.
The Emir of Qatar had paid a visit to Pakistan last year on March 23-24.
The Prime Minister’s visit and interaction with the Qatari leadership will be focused on further enhancement of bilateral relations in various fields, including energy cooperation, trade and investment, defence and increase in employment opportunities for the Pakistani workforce in Qatar, the statement said.
Qatar hosts over 115,000 Pakistanis, who have been contributing towards the development and prosperity of the country and act as a bridge between the peoples of two brotherly countries, the statement added.
