PM summons cabinet meeting on April 23

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned a meeting of newly-constituted cabinet on Tuesday (April 23), ARY News reported.

The meeting will discuss several matters including economic matters. The members will share view son proposal for tax exemption to Saudi funds for uplift works.

The PM will also be briefed on the current education system and ways to streamline its structure. A case of appointing a judicial member to an appellate tribunal, in-land revenue will also be discussed. The drought emergency plan for 2019 will also be presented before the committee.

The members will also approve decisions taken by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC).

Earlier in the day while chairing a key meeting of party ministers, Prime Minister Imran Khan said he would welcome Asad Umar, who stepped down as finance minister on April 18, back into the cabinet if he intends to come back.

The prime minister said it will be beneficial for the cabinet if Asad Umar returns to the key body of ministers. He stated that no one in the government was in power on permanent-basis. ‘Those serving the masses will stay, while others will be sent packing’, he clarified.
