He urged the public to reject those who wanted disruption in the path to progress and support government fully.
“Pakistan cannot afford to neglect the opportunities which are knocking at our doors,” he said while addressing a public gathering after performing groundbreaking of Lahore-Sialkot Motorway project in Sialkot on Monday evening.
The prime minister said the government would end load shedding from the country and concrete steps were being taken in this regard. He said due to government’s efforts load shedding had been considerably decreased in all parts of the country. He said power load shedding would be ended by 2018.
He said those holding sit-ins and protests were not interested in favour of the development of the country.
The prime minister said the back of terrorists had been broken and menace of terrorism would be completely eliminated from the country soon. He lauded the efforts and sacrifices of the security forces and police in the fight against terrorism.
Nawaz said motorways and highways networks would be extended to connect all the parts of the country.
He said that after the start of this project other motorway projects including Hyderabad-Karachi, Gwadar-Khunjerab, Multan-Sukhar and other projects will be started.
The Prime Minister said that today is a unique day in the history of Sialkot. He said that Sialkot-Lahore Motorway will be of the best quality that will connect Sialkot with the rest of the country. He said Sialkot-Pasror and Sialkot-Daska Road will also be constructed in near future.
The Prime Minister said that the government has revived Pakistan Railways and PIA.
He said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor Project after its completion will open new chapters of progress and development and create new job opportunities.
Nawaz Sharif said that during the next two years the government will complete numerous projects in diverse sectors, which will brighten future of the country.
Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif in his address said government is making all out efforts to make the country an economic power.
He said the Prime Minister has turned the dream of the people of Sialkot into a reality.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif said whenever Nawaz Sharif came into power he opened new avenues of prosperity and development for the people of the country.
Earlier, Prime Minister has performed the ground breaking of eighty nine kilometer long four-lane Sialkot-Lahore Motorway Project near Sambrial this evening by unveiling the plaque.
Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Director General Frontiers Works Organization Major General Muhammad Afzal and notables were also present on the occasion.
Director General Frontiers Works Organization Major General Muhammad Afzal briefed the Prime Minister about the salient features of the project.
He said four-lane Motorway will be completed in two years at a cost of forty-three billion rupees.
It will be linked with the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway near Kala Shah Kaku and the Lahore Ring Road near Mahmood Booti Band.
The Motorway will have six interchanges and two service areas.
