PML-N never focused on rural development: Zardari

BADIN: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday said that Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) government  never focused on rural development, and instead spend all resources on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s relatives.

Addressing a rally to welcome PML-N’s former Sindh President Ismail Rahu into his party’s folds, Zardari said that PPP will form the next government in Punjab and will retake the Senate and National Assembly from PML-N.

“Mian Sahab never thinks about rural population,” he said expressing shock and dismay over the condition of the downtrodden people in the country.

“He has spent everything on his relatives,” he said. “Only I can feel the pain of the poor people.”

Zardari said that PM Sharif will eventually have to resign sooner or later after the Panama Paper’s verdict.

He also criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and said Imran Khan cannot understand what the people of the nation desire.

“I’ve received love from every place in Pakistan,” said Zardari promising to visit Balochistan soon and listen to the voices coming from the province.

Zardari hailed the services of Ismail Rahu’s father and peasant leader Fazil Rahu who was assassinated in 1987.

He said that Fazil Rahu was also imprisoned in Sukkur Jail with Benazir Bhutto, and had sent a seal on a block of ice to her. Benazir told him that they are testing her patience and she will succeed eventually.

“I am standing on the soil of Fazil Rahu,” he said. “We and Rahu go a long way back.”

He promised to increase the amount given in Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) cards if the people elect his party to rule the country for next five years.
