KARACHI: Sindh police have announced five million rupees reward for any information leading to the arrest of the facilitators of the attack at the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan on Feb 16.
Police have said to have identified two facilitators who conducted a recce outside the shrine prior to the attack. They were identified after combing through hours of closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the shrine.
Additional Inspector General Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Sanaullah Abbasi made the announcement during a press conference and appealed the general public for any information which may lead to the arrest of the facilitators.
Police make headway into investigations into the attack and released the video footage of the alleged facilitators, who visited the shrine along with the alleged bomber few days prior to the attack.
The facilitators conducted a survey of the shrine and observes the surroundings for almost twenty-five minutes, and even shot several photographs of the shrine.
The images, showing one facilitator wearing a blue dress while another in a black dress, have also been shared with the Rangers and other law-enforcement agencies. They have also been shared with Nadra to prove their exact identity.
A prior video of the attack showed the suicide attacker entering the shrine, but changed course after checking at the gate and entered through another gate.
At least seventy-six people were killed and more than 250 others were injured in the horrific attack at the shrine of the revered Sufi saint.
