Police challan blames Qasar-e-Naz management for death of six family members

KARACHI: Police on Tuesday submitted a challan to a local court in case of death of six people of the same family at Qasr-e-Naz guest house, ARY News reported.

Five children and their aunt died soon after they arrived in Karachi from Pishin. They stayed at the Qasr-e-Naz hotel. The prosecutor has marked the case under murder and terrorism charges. The prosecution lawyer suggested the court to impose terrorism charges in the case.

The challan says the management had sprayed a poisonous chemical that killed seven of the same family. It said the statements by eye-witnesses that deaths of over half a dozen people were not mere accident.

A server said in his statement that he also felt a foul smell after they family to a room for dinner.

It was said in the challan that the Qasar-e-Naz management had sought three bottles of Aluminum phosphate in last two years.

Prosecutor said the management tried to destroy proofs and threw away bed sheets, adding register for visitors was also missing proving the role of management in the crime.

DIG Police South had also pointed out the poisonous fumigation as the cause of death of six people including five children at the Qasr-e-Naz in Karachi.

DIG South Sharjeel Kharal in a media briefing on police investigation of the case said that the ill-fated family left Quetta on Feb 21 and reached Karachi 9:30 in night. They took a meal in Khuzdar during their travel. In Qasr-e-Naz they brought food from outside eateries. Faisal, the head of family,found his wife ailing at 2:00 AM in night and shifted her to hospital, he had said.

The police sealed Room 58-A of Qasr-e-Naz, Naubahar Restaurant and a local biryani restaurant after the incident until completion of the probe.
