Police conduct raids to arrest furious Karachi biker who thrashed cops

Investigators visited Muhammad Shafiq’s residence in Sultanabad twice after his release on bail in two cases registered against him at Civil Lines Police Station.

His bail into the case has expired and police are searching him for the arrest.

Shafiq could land in further trouble if the police submits his case challan in the court and in case of non-arrest, he could be declared absconder.

According to police and witnesses, when traffic personnel posted near the PIDC traffic intersection told Shafiq about the no-parking zone, he pointed to a car parked there, apparently belonging to a DSP traffic, and other cars, asserting that ordinary citizens should also be allowed to park their vehicles there. He then started beating up the cop after he reportedly said something offensive to Shafiq.

Other sergeants who intervened were also overpowered by Shafiq.

Later the CCTV footage transpired which showed that Shafiq initiated the scuffle and the footage didn’t have voice to ascertain what prompted the citizen to hit the cops.

The situation intensified and Shafiq found himself on the receiving end of a thrashing. He was repeatedly hit with a helmet and kicked by the wardens.

The case was registered against the citizen under Section 353 of the Pakistan Penal Code (use or criminal force or assault to deter public servant from discharging his duty) was likely to be cancelled.
