PPP mulling over to lead long march to Islamabad against inflation: sources

KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is mulling over leading a long march to Islamabad against inflation, a day after the party chairman Bilawal Bhutto announced nationwide protests, ARY NEWS reported.

According to sources having knowledge of the discussions within the party, the PPP has begun consultations over leading a long march to Islamabad. “The date for the long march will be announced after consensus within the party over the proposal,” they said.

The sources privy to the party’s plan said that the PPP would initially lead long marches in the provincial and district headquarters and will later lead a march to Islamabad. “The PPP is eyeing to lead a long march ahead of any march from PDM,” they said.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Sunday announced to hit the streets against rising inflation in the country claiming that the party would form the next government in the country.

“I want my MNAs, MPAs and other party leaders to protest against the government in every district of the country over the rising inflation,” he said adding that PPP had been raising its voice against the injustices of the government and would to do so in future also.

Bilawal Bhutto further announced to hold PPP Foundation Day’s public gathering in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

“Everyone is sensing a PPP government in future and soon after taking reins, we will immediately announce a salary raise and provide employment to people across the country,” he said adding that they would fulfill the left-out mission of Benazir Bhutto with the support of the masses.
