PPP’s stance on Musharraf not to be regarded as a deal: Babar

‘PPP wanted to provide a safe passage to Musharraf constitutionally, but PMLN obstructed that move’, reacting to this statement of the Federal Information Minister, Pervez Rasheed, Senator Farhatullah Babar said that PPP’s stance of not opposing Pervez Musharraf from going outside the country, should not be regarded as a deal.

He told that PPP and PMLN constituted a committee for the impeachment of then President, at which General (R) Pervez Musharraf stepped down from his post.

Opposition Leader, Syed Khursheed Shah said that had the PMLN taken stand on October 12 coup d’état under the article-6, it would not have to see this day.

Meanwhile, the former Law Minister Farooq H Naik expressed his unawareness on the matter of Yousuf Raza Gillani’s statement pertaining to General (R) Pervez Musharraf.

He further said that it is a high time for the Government to end all the legislations relating to the controversial Exit Control List (ECL).
