MEDINA: President Dr Arif Alvi reached Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Sunday night, ARY News reported.
According to details, Dr Alvi was welcomed at the Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport by Prince Saud Bin Khalid Bin Faisal, the deputy governor of the holy city, Pakistani Consul-General Shehryar Akbar Khan, as well as other top officials.
During his stay in Medina, the Pakistani president will visit the Roza-e-Rasool (Peace Be Upon Him) before heading to Makkah to perform Umrah.
In October, President Arif Alvi was in Turkey on a three-day official visit on the invitation of Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Before leaving for Saudi Arabia yesterday,President Dr Alvi while addressing a ceremony titled “Artificial Intelligence and Computing”, said “education is mandatory for alleviating poverty as advanced skills would be required in the modern economy.”
He further said fourth industrial revolution was coming in which machines will replace many jobs of humans.
The president said the components of fourth industrial revolution were enormous computing power, sensors and other sophisticated technologies and added that there is a need to focus on promoting research and technology-based knowledge among the students to enable Pakistan to join the ranks of advanced countries.
