According to Radio Pakistan, it is mandatory for the President under the Constitution to address the joint session on the start of a new parliamentary year.
He will highlight the performance of the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) government along with the challenges faced by the country such as terrorism and extremism. The president will also shed light on the achievements of the security forces.
Hussain is also expected to highlight the measures taken to improve the economic sector of the country and the steps taken for overcoming energy shortage.
The country’s commitment towards good bilateral ties with its neighbours will also be reiterated in the president’s address.
The joint session will begin at the Parliament House in Islamabad at 11.00 am.
