President Alvi expresses satisfaction over NAB’s performance

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi here on Monday expressed his satisfaction over the performance of National Accountability Bureau.

President Arif Alvi said this while talking to NAB Chairman justice (retd) Javed Iqbal, who called on him here at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad. Chairman NAB also presented annual report-2018 of his organization to the President.

According to a statement issued from Aiwan-e-Sadr, Dr Arif Alvi said, “NAB is an independent institution and trust of the people on it will be further strengthened by its performance.”

The president underscored that the PTI government’s mission was to make Pakistan a corruption free country in which NAB had to play an important role.

He said that NAB had a pivotal role towards the elimination of corruption from the country and added that indiscriminate accountability was the need of the hour, in order to discourage the corrupt elements.

The president stated, “Corruption has been lifelong concern for him, as this menace has destroyed both the institutions and economy of the country.”

 He emphasized that it was of utmost importance to root out corruption in order to ensure progress and development in the country.
