The protests organized by Imran Khan led Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Dr. Tahirul Qadri’s Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) demanding resignation of the Prime Minister.
The defence minister in a statement said that the members of parliament have rejected the demand of resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
He warned that the violation of the constitution will endanger the democratic system in the country.
He said that millions of people have elected the Prime Minister through their representatives and he will not resign on the demand of a few thousand people.
Asif said the government has maintained its writ. “We respect women and children but it should not be deemed weakness of the government,” the defence minister added.
