Priyanka finds feminine sucess in ‘Mary Kom’

The actress, who portrays five-time Olympic champion Mary Kom in the biopic, said that it was not necessary for the film to hit the coveted Rs.100 crores mark since it is already a success.

She told IANS: “Please! Don’t put such pressure on us. Ours is a small film and don’t compare us with big boys.

“Our film is already successful and I only hope that it sets an example that even female-centric films can do well.

“I don’t know what our destiny is, but I don’t want to put such pressure on our film,” she added.

Directed by Omung Kumar, Mary Kom released on September 5 and by Tuesday had collected Rs 38.95 crore at the Indian box office.

The 32-year-old added that the film has “opened well and that is a huge relief for me. Now let’s see how long does it sustain in the second week.”

Chopra has been widely praised for her portrayal of the boxing champion.

The actress said she put her heart and soul into making the film.
