According to airport sources, the security forces completely sealed the cargo area and conducted thorough search operation following recovery of a suicide jacket from cargo items.
It is learnt that the flight departed without carrying the cargo items owing to security reasons. The suicide jacket was booked through a private courier company. Security officials told that they were investigating the incident.
They informed that ball bearings were also recovered with a suicide vest. The Bomb Disposal Squad was also called at the site to carry out complete inspection.
Spokesman Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) confirmed the incident. He said the London-bound flight eventually took off at 10.30am.
