Pronouncing divorce thrice at a time against Shariah: CII

Presiding over a convention of religious experts and clerics on Wednesday Maulana Mohammad Khan Sherani suggested that the practice of making divorce an act of three uttered sentences be made an offence.

Chairman of the CII Maulana Sherani declared that pronouncing divorce thrice simultaneously is against Shariah.

He said the nature of sentence for the pronouncement of three divorces at a time should be left to respective courts to decide.
