SHARJAH: Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017 encounter between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators on Friday at Sharjah ended without a result due to rain, ARY News reported.
The match was reduced to 16-overs per side due to the rough weather conditions.
Peshawar Zalmi scored 117/3 in their given 16 overs with Tamim Iqbal scoring an unbeaten half century.
The Bangladeshi batsman made 62 runs off 46 balls with four boundaries and four sixes to his name.
Sohaib Maqsood scored 30 runs from 24 balls with the help of two boundaries and a maximum.
Wahab Riaz, Mahmudullah and Rilee Rossouw grabbed a wicket each.
Rain interrupted the start of Gladiators’ innings and got heavier by the minute. The officials finally decided to call off the match and gave one point each to the two teams.
Peshawar Zalmi had made three changes to their side as Chris Jordan, Dawid Malan and Mohammad Asghar are being replaced with Junaid Khan, Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan.
Quetta Gladiators had brought in Zulfiqar Babar for Umar Gul.
