IG Islamabad says PTI workers pelted stones as Imran Khan tried to reach court

ISLAMABAD: The IG Islamabad said that when the PTI chief Imran Khan’s convoy tried to reach the judicial complex the PTI workers started pelting stones, ARY News reported on Saturday.

The IG Islamabad said that as a result of stone pelting several police personnel got injured. The enraged workers also put a police check post on fire.

He claimed that few shells were dropped near Police personnel, the police is looking into that.

In a separate statement the interior minister Rana Sanaullah said that Imran Khan was supposed to appear before court at 3:30pm but he didn’t appear yet.

He revealed that the CM Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan squad is also accompanying the  PTI chairman Imran Khan to court.

Rana Sanaullah said that its unfortunate that Imran Khan is preparing an armed group in the name of politics.

He further said that the PTI chairman Imran Khan Will be arrested when the court orders to arrest him.

Earlier, the Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that Zaman Park has been cleared and police found 16 rifles from Imran Khan’s residence.

“Zaman Park was a ‘no-go area’ causing hassle for general public,” Sanaullah said. “I.G. Punjab will bring all things before the nation,” federal minister said.

“A bullet-proof bunker has been built in Imran Khan’s residence. Policemen don’t enter in the house as Imran Khan’s wife was staying there,” interior minister said.

“A bomb-making factory was found in Zaman Park. What found from the premises will be produced before the court,” he said.
